Head of Polish Armed Forces speaks at Battle Group Poland Change of Command

Bemowo Piskie Training Area– Special guest General Jaroslaw Mika, head of Polish Armed Forces, welcomed United States Army 1st Squadron, 2d Cavalry Regiment Lt. Colonel Jason Adler as the new commander of NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Poland in a change of command ceremony November 28,2021, at Bemowo Piskie Training Area, Poland.

"It is an honor to join the 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Team and I speak for all of Task Force War Eagle, when I say we are humbled by the opportunity to serve alongside you all," said Adler is his remarks. "The coalition of men and women assembled in this battle group are a testament of the strength and commitment of NATO to the security and safety of Eastern Europe."

General Mika also presented outgoing Battle Group Poland Commander Lt. Colonel Jeffery Higgins, 2d Squadron, 2d Cavalry Regiment, with a medal for his achievements and dedication during his service as Battle Group Commander.

The ceremony was full of pomp and circumstance, punctuated with music from a Polish Army band from the 15th Mechanized Brigade, 16th Division and participation by Battle Group Poland allies and partners including Troops from the Polish, Croatian, Romanian, UK and US contingencies.
