KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan national army and International Security Assistance Force soldiers in the Pech District, Kunar province, killed two senior insurgents and captured four others yesterday, July 15.

Two of the detained individuals are known insurgents, and were involved in improvised explosive device attacks throughout the Pech area.

Insurgents who place IEDs are responsible for the indiscriminate killing and injuring of security forces and innocent Afghan civilians.

The removal of these insurgents will lead to improved safety and security for local Afghans.
