Soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division Forward participated in the 14th Military Economic Division Commander's Cup indoor soccer tournament in Poznan, Poland, on February 28, 2020.
Featured in the tournament alongside the 1 ID FWD soldiers were several local Polish teams including the 2nd Air Tactical Wing, 12th Territorial Defense Brigade, Poznan Land Forces Training Center, Poznan NCO School, Poznan NCO Fire Department School, and Poznan Military Prosecutor’s Office.
U.S. soldiers’ continued participation in the tournament helps to strengthen the friendly relationship the U.S. Army has with both the Polish armed forces, as well as the local community of Poznan.
The 1 ID FWD team members consisted of Capt. Allan Hartung, Capt. Nathaniel Shearer, 1st Lt. Julee Thomas, Staff Sgt. Francis Mulika, Sgt. Su Lee, Sgt. Cheng Chen, Spc. Emmanuel Benson and Spc. Jesus Armendariz.
