The Tulsa District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host an informational meeting to accept input, answer questions about changes to the Fort Gibson Lake Shoreline Management Plan at the Wagoner Civic Center in Wagoner, Oklahoma, Feb. 25 from 6 - 8 p.m.

No formal presentation will take place but Tulsa District rangers and staff will be available to provide visitors with maps and other visual information related to proposed changes to Fort Gibson Lake’s current shoreline management plan.

The Wagoner Civic Center is located at 301 South Grant Ave., Wagoner, OK 74467.

Shoreline management plans address the rules and guidelines governing private shoreline uses, which includes private boat docks, vegetation modification, and similar uses of government property. The SMP establishes shoreline allocations, which specify where certain private uses are allowable.

The Corps of Engineers creates SMPs as a complement to the master plan that governs the reservoir. The Fort Gibson SMP was last updated in 1996. Tulsa District is updating the current SMP to complement changes in the 2016 Fort Gibson Master Plan revision.

Following the meeting, information provided at the public workshop meetings, including the existing plan may be viewed on the Tulsa District website at https://www.swt.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Shoreline-Management-Plans/
