ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Eubank Gate construction public meetings The next and most traffic disruptive phase of the Eubank Gate construction period will begin Feb. 3. Informational meetings will be held on Jan. 14 from 3 – 5 p.m., at the Mountain View Club, 2200 Club Road, on the installation’s north east side. There, project experts will provide expanded detail on this construction phase, what commuters can expect and tips to lessen its impact. All Kirtland team members, dependents and housing residents are welcome to attend. Eubank Gate corridor construction information can also be found on the Kirtland App and Kirtland website.
Ammo Closure Ammo will be closed from Jan. 15-16, 2020 for a Headquarters Air Force directed Munitions Stockpile Inventory. No transactions will be scheduled during this two-day window. Monthly Energy Conservation
DOD has revised their energy policy. Saving energy, money and energy conservation were key principles for preservation of natural resources; and now the Air Force will take into consideration energy resilience, reliability, and efficiency. Hurricane Michael’s impact on Tyndall Air Force Base is a perfect example of the concept of time required to resume mission accomplishment. This new planning strategy will be discussed in future monthly energy tips and will further introduce the specific details because of mission importance.
Herbicide Application to begin in January The PAE Entomology Shop will be applying both liquid and granular pre-emergent herbicide Sureguard on xeriscaped areas and Pendulum 2G on grass areas from January through April 2020, weather permitting. Defense Travel System payments delayed The Air Force Accounting system, DEAMS, recently underwent a transition. This conversion took a little over two weeks two complete and during this time, the system was completely offline. As a result, DTS travel payments that require interface into DEAMS were delayed. These files are being interfaced on a first-in, first-out basis. 2020 Bataan Memorial Death March The Bataan Memorial Death March will be held on March 15, at the White Sands Missile Range. Anyone wanting to participate in and train for the 2020 march with a team contact Capt. Tullino to discuss the event, training, and registration options currently available. Participants can choose to be part of the heavy division (min. 35 lbs. rucksack) or the light division (no weight requirement). There will be trainings held every Saturday starting Jan. 4, 2020. Combat Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) CTIP is the second largest criminal activity in the world. It is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons by means of threat, use of force, coercion, abduction, fraud deception, abuse or exploitation. Airmen should report any suspicious behavior that may indicate CTIP activities to their chain of command, Security Forces, AFOSI, or the IG. Requesting Honor Guard services Requests for color guard ceremonies must be made at least seven days prior to the ceremony. Multiple requests made for the same day and time will honor a “first requested, first served rule,” except in the case of military funeral honors which take precedent over all other requests. Food Pantry Eligible service members including active-duty, National Guard, Reserves, retirees, DOD civilians, and their family members can go to the food pantry in time of financial hardship for the grocery necessities at no cost to them. The pantry is open from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is located in the Consolidated Support Facility, Ste. 126.

February 24 Financial Peace University The Chapel offers the free class, Financial Peace University, at the 58th Special Operations Wing Performance and Leadership Center and Gravity Airman Ministry Center as part of its religious education program. FPU is an intense, stewardship training course that presents universal financial principles from a Christian perspective to empower people to take responsibility, ditch debt, and build wealth. The classes run from Feb. 24 to April 20 and sessions are Mondays from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at the 58th SOW HPLC, OR from 6 - 8 p.m., at the Gravity. SPORTS AND FITNESS CALENDAR:
Ongoing fitness classes at the East Fitness Center in January All Terrain This class formats all terrains, to include team drills and visualization rides, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Mondays, 5:30 - 6:30 a.m. Tuesdays, and 11 a.m. - noon Thursdays.
Power Ride Higher resistance training to improve strength, stamina and power, 11 a.m. - noon Tuesdays and 5:30 - 6:30 a.m. Thursdays.
Basic Training
A 60-minute functional total body workout - this class will incorporate cardiovascular, strength, endurance, balance, push-ups, core, speed and agility, as well as partner drills. Instructors will push to optimum fitness potential. Classes run from 3 - 4 p.m. Tuesdays, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 3 - 4 p.m. Thursdays.
Muscle Hour Integrate balance with strength while using the barbells, heavy bars, and dumbbells to sculpt. BOSU and fit balls may be incorporated from time to time. All fitness levels. Class runs from noon - 1 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays.
Zumba® and Strong by Zumba® Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance and tone program that runs from 5 - 6 p.m. each Wednesday. Strong by Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio, and plyometric training moves synced to original music and runs from 9 - 10 a.m. Saturdays.
Yoga Stretch and Strengthening A level-1 class combining traditional yoga postures with deep stretching, breathing exercises, and meditation. Great for beginners and the more physically fit, resulting in increased flexibility, strength and stress reduction, running from 5 - 6 p.m. Thursdays.
Yogalates Combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. This fat-burning, low-impact workout is designed for all levels and runs from 5 - 6 p.m. every Tuesday.

RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler
Skip the long wait for an ID card by scheduling an ID appointment on the RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler. This is a self-service function that allows members to book their own appointment and can be accessed 24/7. Also, if scheduling an appointment and the DEERS network goes down, members will receive a call from the 377th Military Personnel Section customer support staff. Civilian Personnel Flight: All DPMAP performance plans for DOD civilians should have an approved plan and a completed mid-year review. All new/transferring DOD civilians should have an approved plan within 30 days of starting. A minimum of 90 days is required on an approved plan to be eligible for a rating. The end of the rating cycle is 31 March 2020. For questions or concerns as an employee or as a supervisor contact the Civilian Personnel Office at 505-263-7794.
