Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune Welcomes First Baby of 2020

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) welcomed the first baby of 2020 born in Onslow County, North Carolina. Winona Jane Trombley was welcomed into the world at 2:01 a.m. on January 01, 2020 by her proud parents USMC Lance Corporal Shannon Robertson and her husband, Zachary Trombley, a USMC Veteran. Winona Jane weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measured at 19.7 inches in length. Winona is the first child for the couple from Massachusetts. The parents said they chose the name Winona as it means “firstborn daughter”.
LCpl Robertson thanked the NMCCL Labor and Delivery staff for making her stay comfortable. “The nursing staff has been so good to me; they were great and respected everything I wanted,” she said. LCpl Robertson, who is stationed at II MEF Headquarters, explained that the New Year’s Day birth is meaningful to her as it is also the three-year anniversary of meeting her husband.
NMCCL congratulates the family on the birth of their baby girl and wishes them a safe and happy 2020.
