Royal Jordanian Marine Battalion Visit Parris Island

MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT PARRIS ISLAND, S.C.- Two members of the Royal Jordanian Marine Battalion visited Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island Dec. 13, 2019 to learn about the U.S. Marine Corps makes Marines and drill instructors.

During the visit Jordanian Marines Lt. Col. Motasem Alrabie and Capt. Firas Gudah were able to observe such training events as the crucible, drill instructor school, and the rifle ranges.

“This is the first time for me visiting [U.S. Marine Corps] recruit training,” said Alrabie. “It’s huge but full of great facilities to show the new Marines how to adapt to their units. They learn to be strong and to always work with honor, courage, and commitment.”

At the end of the visit the members of the RJMB joined U.S. Marine Corps Col. Cesar Rodriguez, Assistant Chief of Staff G-3 Operations, and other leaders at Parris Island to discuss how both services conduct recruit training.

“We are always interested in how other Marines are trained,” said Gudah. “We sat down with them and learned about how they operate their basic training and talked about how we do as well. They are very professional and this visit strengthened the relationship between the two forces.”
