U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Rafael Ribas, deputy commander for mobilization and reserve affairs, U.S. Southern Command and U.S. Army Sergeant Major Manny Blas, senior enlisted advisor for mobilization and reserve affairs, U.S. Southern Command met with U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Gene Price, commander, Naval Information Force Reserve and reserve deputy, Naval Information Forces and Command Master Chief Kristie Barbier, Naval Information Force Reserve to discuss reserve integration in the information warfare community. Maj Gen. Ribas noted the crucial support provided by Navy Reserve SOUTHCOM Intel units at Joint Reserve Intelligence Center Fort Worth, and was impressed to see firsthand their production processes from start to finish. Additional topics discussed included: SOUTHCOM J2 vacancies, dedicated funding for intelligence support and the potential for future detachments, including at JIATF South in Key West, FL.
