KABUL, Afghanistan — An International Security Assistance Force soldier was killed and two were injured as a result of an attack by insurgents in eastern Afghanistan today.
"This brave service member, the injured colleagues and their grieving families are in our hearts today," said Brig. Gen. Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson. "This sacrifice in the name of security and a better life for the Afghan people will not be forgotten."
It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
