2019 HITT CHAMPIONSHIP

Sgt. Brittany Vella, a mass communication specialist on Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, competes in the 2019 High Intensity Tactical Training Championship, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Sept. 9, 2019.
“We trained 5 days a week with our HITT coordinator with various exercises similar to crossfit-type workouts.” said Vella.
The motivated competitor, wife and mother completed the marksmanship simulator, Combat Fitness Test, the weighted run, and the Combat Swim Challenge. Marine Corps Community Services HITT program promotes all-around fitness and conditioning aimed at creating Marines, who are more physical resilient and combat ready.
“I am really excited to meet all of these people and for the over-all experience,” Vella said. “A lot of people worked really hard to put this together, and I would have never met these Marines if it wasn’t for this event – so I’m really grateful to be a part of it.”
