Soldier Spotlight: Sgt. Laquilah Banks

CAMP DODGE, Iowa— Sgt. Laquilah Banks, a resident of Wilmington, De., serves as a medical logistics specialist with the 108th Area Support Medical Company, 213th Regional Support Group, Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Banks previously held a position as a unit supply specialist and a combat medic specialist for three years after that.

“Having a logistics background and then becoming a medic made this job come easier to me.”

For her civilian job, Banks works in the medical field as a field support specialist, helping veterans get community care appointments. She makes sure that people who have certain issues or conditions are matched up with the right providers, which lends to her medical training through the Army.

Banks, who loves logistics, said organization is an important aspect of her job along with record keeping. “The finished product of an organized supply room is so amazing, ”she said. “I strive to get to that finished product so supply can run smoothly.”

“I keep counts on how much the company spends on equipment and how much of the equipment the company gives me back.” Sad Banks. “This not only gives me a figure on how much supply I have in stock, but a financial figure of what is used.”

Banks said she is excited about her position at the 108th ASMC and it feels good
to be able to supply Soldiers with what they need to accomplish their mission.

“To be able to do this for a medical company that I call home, and to be able to supply everything that our medics need to support the fight means a lot to me.” she said.
