KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan national security forces, assisted by International Security Assistance Force troops, conducted an important operation in Badakshan province on May 7, in northern Afghanistan.

During the operation, ANSF troops captured Abdul Razeq, an insurgent responsible for attacking ISAF patrols and convoys. Razeq is also wanted for planning and conducting improvised explosive device attacks against ISAF troops.

Razeq will be transferred to the custody of the public prosecutor in Kabul.
