USAMU Soldiers win CMP Cup 4-Man Team Championships

USAMU team claims CMP Cup Team Champion title

Soldiers with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's Service Rifle Team competed in the 2019 Civilian Marksmanship Program Cup at Camp Perry, Ohio July 24-26.

Staff Sgt. Erin McNeil claimed the top spot in the July 24th 1000 Aggregate, as well as the High Military and High Woman titles, with her 989-46x, which beat out the the top civilian score of 984-43x.

In the July 25th 1000 Aggregate, Capt. Matthew Rawlings, a U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program Soldier who is joining the USAMU for the National Matches, claimed the High Military title with a 995-48x, making him second overall to James Fox's 996-63x.

Once the days were combined, McNeil took the Overall CMP Individual Silver with a 1980-94x, just behind James Fox's 1980-96x. This score also earned her the High Woman.

In the 4-Man Team Championships, USAMU teams claimed 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th in a showing of 45 teams from across the United States. USAMU Craig took the Gold with a 1980-88x. The coach was Sgt. 1st Class Walter Craig. Team members were: Sgt. Ben Cleland (captain), Sgt. Christopher Hudock, Sgt. 1st Class Brandon Green and Rawlings.

Hudock took the Silver in the 4-Man Team highest scoring individual category with a 497-22x, which was two Xs behind U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Stephen Ferguson's 497-24x.
