CONCORD, Mass. – Night time work on the Cape Cod Canal’s Bourne Bridge and Sagamore Bridge will continue between Monday and Friday (July 22-26, 2019), as needed, to complete the bridge repair project.

There will be one lane in each direction on only one bridge at a time between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. (the following morning) on those nights that work will be done. The work is weather dependent and will be scheduled when there is a period or warm, dry weather for the contractor to complete the work.

The repair work was not completed this week due to the heavy rainstorms.

All travel lanes will be open each day outside of the work shifts occurring at night.

The Corps of Engineers team thanks the Cape Cod and region commuting public for their understanding and patience during the execution of these necessary bridge repair activities and lane closures. The bridge repair work is critical to maintaining the structural integrity of the bridges, which are a vital component to the transportation system of Cape Cod, the Islands and southeastern Massachusetts.
