CARSON CITY, Nev. — Several high-ranking officials from the Association of the United States Army stopped by the Nevada National Guard's Office of the Adjutant General here on April 23.
Retired Lt. Col. Charley Smith, the vice president for National Guard Affairs, said the main reason for the visit was to give some of the long-time members an insight into some of the new and unique aspects of today's military.
The visitors were delighted with the opportunity to tour the various National Guard offices and receive briefings from the different departments on their mission specifics.
"Retired military members are extremely interested in today's military. Since 1950, AUSA has worked to support all aspects of national security while advancing the interests of America's army and the men and women who serve," Smith said.
