Static display opens to civilians in Sibiu, Romania

U.S. Army and Romanian Land Forces interact with civilians during a static display event in Sibiu, Romania on Saturday, June 15, 2019.

The static display was a part of Exercise Saber Guardian 19. Saber Guardian 19 allows for the physical presence of the U.S. Army to work directly with other militaries, build interoperability, and hone the skills necessary to act as part of a coalition.

“It’s important because we’re allies, so we need to know what each other are capable of and what we can do together,” said Pfc. Raymond Moore from 1st Platoon, Comanche Troop, 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment.

During the static display, U.S. and Romanian Soldiers showed the attending Romanian civilians various vehicles and weapon systems. The event allowed the civilians to experience the cohesion between NATO forces firsthand.

“The civilians can see what we also have, so they know that we are allies and no one has to be afraid of anything,” said Moore.
