MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, C.A. – It is with heavy hearts that U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command announces the death of a Marine Raider following a tactical vehicle accident that occurred aboard Camp Pendleton April 13, 2019.
The one-vehicle accident occurred during a unit training exercise, resulting in two Raiders receiving minor injuries and one suffering critical injuries that required aeromedical evacuation to a higher echelon of care. He did not survive his injuries and passed away the night of April 14.
The Marine’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
