Hanscom DVs visit Westover

WESTOVER AIR RESERVE BASE, Mass. (Feb. 5, 2019) -- Col. Chad Ellsworth the commander of the 66th Air Base Group at Hanscom AFB, Mass. and Lt. Col. Ken Ferland, his deputy commander got a base tour by Brig. Gen. D. Scott Durham, commander 439th Airlift Wing and Lt. Col. Greg Meyer, deputy commander 439th Mission Support Group Jan. 30.

They were first given a 439th Airlift Wing mission briefing before loading onto a van and given a windshield tour.

“I like the setup of the James Street Gate ‘bow tie’ road pattern which solves the problem of a traffic pattern in a confined area, solving a force protection problem,” said Ellsworth. “An idea we can take back to Hanscom.”

Just before lunch at the Westover club they got a chance to walk through the pull through hangar and then a quick tour of the C-5 parked inside.
