Cerklje ob Krki, SLOVENIA – Nearly 350 U.S. Paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade will conduct an airborne operation into Cerklje Airbase, Slovenia to begin Exercise Eagle Sokul, March 22.

The airborne operation will initiate a two week training exercise for the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), using the training areas in Cerklje and Pocek, Slovenia to build combat readiness at the squad and platoon level.

Eagle Sokul provides an opportunity for 1st Bn., 503rd In. Regt. to work alongside our premier partners in the Slovenian Army in their world-class facilities and directly increase the battalion’s lethality and interoperability as allies.

The exercise will run from March 22 through April 02, and will test Air Assault, Airborne and small arms live fire skills.
