1TSC Identifies Two Operation Spartan Shield Army Casualties

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Two U.S. Army Soldiers were killed and another injured in a noncombat incident while supporting Operation Spartan Shield in Kuwait March 5, 2019.

The deceased are:
Spc. Jackson D. Johnson, 20, of Hillsboro, Missouri.
Sgt. Holli R. Bolinski, 37, of Pinckneyville, Illinois.

The Soldiers were traveling in North Kuwait when their vehicle collided with a civilian commercial truck. All three Soldiers were flown by U.S. Army medical evacuation helicopter to the U.S. Military Hospital — Kuwait (USMH-K) at Camp Arifjan.

Bolinski was pronounced dead upon arrival to USMH-K, Johnson died as a result of his injuries, and the third Soldier was injured and is pending medical evacuation from Kuwait.

All three Soldiers were assigned to the 657th Transportation Detachment, United States Army Reserve, Mount Vernon, Ill, currently stationed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

The incident is under investigation.
