The 1-3 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (Task Force Viper), 12th Combat
Aviation Brigade was awarded the Lt. Gen. Ellis D. Parker Award for Aviation
Battalion of the Year for the combat category and the Overall Aviation
Battalion for 2018.

During 2018, Task Force Viper conducted decisive action aviation operations
in support of NATO Allies, conducting more than 14 training iterations in
over 18 countries across Europe.
The Lt. Gen. Ellis D. Parker Award was established in 1993 by then- Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan to honor the Army's top Aviation Battalion. The award recognizes excellence at the battalion level in Army Aviation across all of the Army.
