Rear Admiral Colin G. Chinn Visits Naval Health Research Center

Joint Staff Surgeon, and principal medical advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, RADM Colin G. Chinn toured the NHRC facility and laboratories, surveying the Command’s unique capabilities and operational relevance during his visit to San Diego on Tuesday, Feb 22, 2019.

Starting with a command overview from the NHRC Commanding Officer, CAPT Marshall R. Monteville, followed by Director briefings from each of the three science directorates, then a tour through the command’s laboratories, RADM Chinn came away with a better understanding of the command capabilities. He remarked, “I am very impressed with the overall breadth and depth of readiness centered work and support to the Warfighter occurring at NHRC. It is a testament to their staff and leadership. It was a worthwhile visit for me as the Joint Staff Surgeon".

The NHRC mission is to focus on the profound medical needs of our nation’s warfighter and families across all military services, by conducting cutting-edge research and development. NHRC’s team of 300 distinguished scientists and researchers consists of active duty service members, federal civil service employees and contractors, whose expertise includes physiology, microbiology, psychology, epidemiology, and biomedical engineering.
