New York National Guard Officer becomes Congressman

New York Army National Guard Capt. Max Rose, the commander of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion 69th Infantry is now Congressman Max Rose as well.
Rose, a Staten Island resident, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on Nov. 6. A Democrat, he defeated Congressman Dan Donovan to represent Staten Island in the next Congress.
Rose grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island after leaving Active Duty and joining the Army National Guard. While serving in Afghanistan in 2013 he was wounded. He holds the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
While campaigning for Congress this summer he garnered a lot of media attention when he put his campaign on hold to attend annual training with the 69th.
Rose was one of 16 veterans elected to Congress in 2018.
