USSTRATCOM NCOs and POs attend joint professional development seminar

Noncommissioned officers and Petty Officers assigned to U.S. Strategic Command and the 55th Wing engaged in a joint professional development seminar at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Oct . 1-3, 2018.

"NCOs are the backbone of the armed forces and I have personally relied on their leadership and council throughout my career," said Vice Adm. David Kriete, deputy commander of USSTRATCOM.

During the seminar, NCOs and Petty Officers learned abut leadership expectations and techniques from a variety of guest speakers, including VADM Kriete and Chief Master Sgt. Patrick McMahon, the command senior enlisted leader.

“As noncommissioned officers and petty officers, our ability to be competent, credible and capable is essential,” said Chief Master Sgt. McMahon. “We need to be able to teach, coach and mentor our forces. We need to complement our commanders and our officer corps and we need to be able to enable our force.”

The course was developed by USSTRATCOM’s senior enlisted leaders to enhance the effectiveness of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines at the E-5 and E-6 level through joint professional military education.
