U.S. Soldier reenlists during exercise in India

Spc. Sierra Hill, a Soldier with 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, reenlisted into the U.S. Army on a zipline Sept. 25, 2018, at Chaubattia Military Station, India. The reenlistment ceremony was administered by Maj. Gen. William Graham, the I Corps deputy commanding general, during Exercise Yudh Abhyas 18.

“My favorite part of being in the Army is the getting to travel,” Hill said. “I have traveled to Thailand, Korea, Germany and India; it is great getting a chance to learn another country’s culture.”

Hill said it was a natural decision for her to join the U.S. Army. She grew up with family members who were prior service and active duty. Hill will soon join her mother, who currently serves as a logistics warrant officer, at her next duty station at Fort Carson, Colorado.
