Pa. Guard conducts transportation missions in S.C.

EASTOVER, S.C. – Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard based at McEntire Joint National Guard Base here conducted transportation missions for personnel and equipment in North Carolina and South Carolina, Sept. 22, 2018.

A crew in a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter moved to Horry County Municipal Airport in Conway, South Carolina in the morning. They were staged there and on standby for assigned missions.

In the early afternoon they flew South Carolina Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team members from Myrtle Beach International Airport to McEntire Joint National Guard Base. They also flew communications equipment from Marion County Airport in Mullins, South Carolina to Myrtle Beach International Airport.

A crew in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter was staged and on standby for missions at McEntire Joint National Guard Base.

In the early afternoon that crew flew to Pope Army Airfield near Fayetteville, North Carolina. There, they picked up lifesaving equipment to be transported back to McEntire Joint National Guard Base.

All Pennsylvania National Guard helicopter crews and PA-HART members in South Carolina are expected to consolidate at Myrtle Beach International Airport on Sunday. They stand ready to assist the populace and complete further assignments as directed by local authorities.
