JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq -- The 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group hosted a change of command ceremony for two of its squadrons at the Town Hall facility Jan. 19.
Col. (Dr.) Mark Mavity, 332nd MDG commander, officiated over the change of command ceremony where Col. (Dr.) Timothy Cassidy assumed command of the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron from Col. (Dr.) James King, and Lt. Col. Michael Dietz assumed command of the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Support Squadron from Lt. Col. David Johnson.
Cassidy is currently deployed from the 59th Medical Operations Squadron at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, where he is the gastroenterology flight commander.
"It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to command the Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron," he said. "I hope that I can lead the Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron to bigger and better things in the future, because I believe the thing that we do, the treatment of illness, the treatment of injuries is one of the highest callings we have out there."
Like Cassidy, Dietz enthusiastically addressed the ceremony attendees, compromised of wing leadership, EMDG team members and other JBB personnel.
"I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to leading the Expeditionary Medical Support Squadron," he said. "Men and women of the Expeditionary Medical Support Squadron, you've done so many great things already, I know you will continue. I can't wait to begin working with you."
Dietz is currently deployed from Keesler AFB, Miss., where he is the 81st Medical Support Squadron commander.
Working together as part of the EMDG team, 332nd EMDSS and EMDOS, Airmen will continue to provide world-class health care for the Iraqi theater of operations.
