CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan– Marine Corps Installations Pacific opened a new recycling center July 2 at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan.

Though the newly opened recycling center replaced the facility at Camp Foster, services will remain uninterrupted. The move also does not affect recycling collection services for military family housing.

According to David T. Roen, director of the Environmental Affairs, Facilities Engineering, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, the new recycling center was built as part of continuous U.S. military relocation efforts to move facilities on Okinawa from southern camps to northern camps.

“We will still pick up recyclables as we did before from barracks and facilities at each camp,” said Roen. “The only change will be that recycle drop-off for individuals will only be during office hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, at the new facility on Camp Hansen instead of Camp Foster.”

The recycling center is located at building 2463 on Camp Hansen near the rifle and pistol ranges.
