WTB Hosts Change of Command

The Warrior Transition Battalion hosted a change of command ceremony for Lt. Col. Steven G. Robins, incoming commander, and Lt. Col. Phillip B. Brown Jr., outgoing commander, Thursday, June 28 at the Cpl. Rudolfo Hernandez Warrior Transition Battalion Complex on Fort Bragg.

Robins mission is to provide Fort Bragg the medical capability to facilitate the process for Soldiers on the return to duty path or prepare Soldiers for the transition from citizen-Solider to citizen.

“Lt. Col. Robins is a gifted leader, passionate for the mission and one of the best,” said Brown.

A native of Texas, Robins has been married to his wife Jana for 20 years and have two children: daughter Kaylee 15 and son Wyatt nine.

LTC Robins was commissioned an Infantry 2nd Lt. in 2000 after graduating from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. He has successfully served in every leadership position from Platoon Leader to Brigade Operations Officer, commanded two Companies and served in multiple broadening assignments.

His civilian education consists of a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in National Security Studies. His awards and decorations include three Bronze Star Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, seven Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Air Assault Badge, Master Parachutist Badge and Ranger Tab.

Robins previous assignment on Fort Bragg was the 82nd Airborne Division Chief of Plans.
