Buckley State of the Base 2018

Buckley Air Force Base held its annual State of the Base Feb. 7, 2018, at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hiltion in Aurora, Colorado. The State of the Base brings installation and community leaders together to build relationships. They also discuss the current and future operations of the base and how it affects the surrounding community.
“Our primary mission centers on our combat-ready Airmen providing early missile warning, surveillance, and installation operations for America and our allies,” said Endicott.
The 460th SW commander highlighted each unit on Buckley AFB and the roles they play in continuing operations. He also mentioned additions to the base, such as the dental facility, to show how the base is expanding and taking on more mission sets.
“In my professional lifetime, I have not seen a more relevant connection to a mission as we have here today, just in your backyard,” said Endicott. “My focus is on today’s mission and tomorrow’s challenges and I am committed to shape our operations to defeat the threats we see across the globe.”
Many community members were in attendance at the event including Mayor Steve Hogan, city of Aurora, who maintains a close relationship with base leaders.
“Buckley AFB is the largest employment center in Aurora and the operations carried out there are critical to the safety of our country,” said Hogan. “I absolutely love having Buckley AFB in our community.”
