The Vision Plan Workshop focuses on creating an installation development vision and planning standards through conceptualizing and analyzing development scenarios for specific areas at MCBQ
Attendance and participation at the event is a critical part of the Installation Master Planning process. It is an opportunity to provide base planners with input on future development at MCBQ.
The resulting Area Development Plans will guide future facility and infrastructure decisions aboard base such as the structural integrity of roads, building and natural landscapes.
“Try to come up with a different set of ideals and bring innovation to this workshop,” Murray said. “What we are really looking for is how we can bring Quantico into the vision of the future.”
According to Murray he wants tenant organizations to look at the best ways to utilize Department of Defense funds through consolidation.
Consolidation will be accomplished through benefactors reducing leases using infrastructure resets to maximize space.
“Today is about the beginning of the planning process,” Murray said. “It is imperative we work together with our tenant commands, our neighboring communities and higher headquarters.”
Murray inspired the leaders and innovators to look through a different lens and find a way to help Quantico sustain its war fighting capabilities.
