CAMP LIBERTY - Covert operations are being conducted in the Industrial Zone on Camp Liberty. These covert operations are not intended to be hidden, quite frankly, because the success of the mission on Pad 21 depends on units bringing in their inoperable or malfunctioning equipment.

Unfortunately, the location of Pad 21 is concealed in the middle of the Industrial Zone. The 503rd Maintenance Company, under the 398th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, is here to support the warfighters by ensuring their equipment is fully mission capable and ready for a mission at any time.

Since the shop office is hidden, they are going out of their way to advertise their services. This advertising has increased the awareness to local Soldiers living within, but not limited to, the Victory Base Complex.

Upon arrival in theater, shop office submitted a work order to have twelve signs fabricated with arrows pointing any potential customer to the secret location of the maintenance shop.

While the 503rd awaited the contract to be filled and the signs to be made, the masterminds creatively composed some flyers. With the help of the Victory Base Complex support public announcements, the shop was able to digitally distribute a flyer to every single email listed in the VBC area; Army marketing at its best! The flyers listed the various capabilities of the maintenance company as well as an attached map. This map allowed Soldiers who are familiar with the VBC area, to navigate their way to Pad 21 with ease and even those who are not familiar with the area.

Customers from as far as Camps Taji, Loyalty, and Prosperity have traveled through dangerous zones in order to pay a visit to this well established shop thanks to great marketing.
