CONTINGENCY OPERATIONS BASE ADDER, Iraq – Insurgents fired four rockets near the 38th Iraqi Army Brigade Headquarters near Amarah in Maysan province Sept. 15, 2008.

No injuries to personnel were reported.

Working on information from the local population, coalition forces then captured a suspected insurgent leader near Basrah, who is based out of Nasiriyah and is believed to be responsible for leading various attacks against military and civilian personnel throughout southern Iraq.

Iraqi security forces searched the individual's residence in Nasiriyah for criminal evidence. ISF are currently questioning the individual about his alleged activities and frequent trips to and from Iran.

Since the ISF's initial push into the Maysan province in late June, they have detained dozens of individuals linked to criminal activity and seized thousands of deadly munitions commonly used in attacks against Iraqi civilians and military personnel.
