MEDIA ADVISORY:  Unique opportunity to have a firsthand Army experience

FORT BENNING, Ga. — Media members are invited to join educators, civic leaders and other prominent citizens during the first Centers of Influence (COI ) Tour and Army Team Experience, hosted by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning on April 27, 2017.

Join the Army Marksmanship Unit for a demonstration of world-class shooting and watch an exhibition by the U.S. Army Parachute Team, “Golden Knights.” Participants will be able to meet and talk with Army Olympians. In addition, the event will include U.S. Army Reserve drill sergeants, Army medics, the Army Band and Soldiers from the Mission Support Battalion who will bring rolling interactive exhibits showcasing Army technology to the event.

This is a chance to learn more about the Army and meet some of America’s best trained Soldiers. The goal is to provide participants with a unique Army experience they will be able to take back and share in their communities.

DIRECTIONS FOR MEDIA: Take Interstate 185 to the Visitors’ Center at the Fort Benning Access Gate where you will park and be met by a USAMU representative and escorted to the event.

The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) wins national and international shooting competitions, supports Army marketing engagements, and advances small arms lethality to demonstrate Army marksmanship capability, connect America to its Army and enhance marksmanship effectiveness in combat. USAMU is part of the U.S. Army Marketing Engagement Brigade and Army Marketing and Research Group.
