BAGHDAD --A mid-afternoon terrorist mortar attack in north-central Baghdad June 3 failed to cause significant damage when a round struck a hospital's respiratory center.
Shortly after 2 p.m., terrorists fired multiple mortar rounds at the Respiratory Center in the Baghdad Medical City Complex.
One mortar round exploded on the Respiratory Center and caused an indeterminate amount of damage to the hospital. Another round landed and exploded on the roof of a nearby house.
The terrorists then sprayed the hospital with automatic rifle fire, killing one local national.
Iraqi Police quickly responded and were on the scene to establish order.
The incident is under investigation.
