LAIKIPIA AIR BASE, Kenya—Participants of African Partnership Flight Kenya concluded classroom training this week here June 24, 2016. Several of the course topics included personnel recovery command and control, combat search and rescue terminal planning, survival and evasion tactics, tactical combat casualty care, airfield security and base defense, aircraft maintenance. Participants applied the techniques and lessons learned during hands-on scenarios such as land navigation, tourniquet application and close quarter tactics. The training helped provide partner nations the opportunity to work together to improve proficiency and readiness in several key mission areas. The next phase of APF Kenya will be the two-day, Kenyan Defense Force-led personnel recovery exercise in which U.S. Air Force participants will act as observers.
