The 90th CES was recognized for various achievements to include raising $9,000 in support of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal’s Wounded Warrior Fund, making over 500 household goods items available to inbound military families and organizing and providing leadership to several community activities, benefitting the base and Cheyenne.
“We interact with the community so much that I think we are a great fit for what they were looking for,” Lt. Col. Robert Lance, 90th CES commander . “We have a lot of folks who really get involved in our community and our Airmen put effort forward to continue that interaction.”
CES’s mission is to take our customer’s needs and do what we can to ensure they are met, Lance said.
“The Warren community is our customer as well as our family,” he said. “Even though Cheyenne is not our customer, they are still a part of that same family.”
Airmen from the base establish a connection with the city, with many living within the community.
“Every unit on Warren supports the mission, but we have some unique factors that allow us to directly partner with Cheyenne,” said Chief Master Sgt. James Clark, 90th CES chief. “I was very pleased to get [the trophy], a lot of what we do is community based and I think that helped us get recognized.”
After the MAC presented the award to CES, Col. Stephen Kravitsky, 90th Missile Wing commander, gave remarks to the award recipients.
“The 90th Civil Engineer Squadron is very deserving of the recognition, and this award,” Kravitsky said. “All of the units on F.E. Warren have blown me away with their ability to accomplish the mission and to participate and support the community.”
