JFC Naples commander visits Camp Butmir, discusses status and future of BiH

The commander of Allied Joint Force Command, Naples, Italy, toured Camp Butmir, the home of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo and European Union Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, April 27, 2016.

Adm. Mark Ferguson met with senior leaders, and other personnel, at the camp to discuss military and NATO operations in the Balkans area of responsibility.

His short, but purposeful, visit included meetings with Brig. Gen. Giselle Wilz, NATO HQ Sa commander, and Maj. Gen. Friedrich Schrötter, EUFOR commander, to discuss the progress and way ahead for BiH on their road to EURO Atlantic Integration. The admiral also had a lunch meeting, which included the United Kingdom Ambassador, Edward Ferguson, and the United States Ambassador, Maureen Cormack.

Admiral Ferguson then met with the BiH Chief of Defense, Gen. Anto Jeleč, to address AFBiH cooperation, interoperability and integration with NATO.
