WHAT: U.S. Southern Command change-of-command ceremony.
WHO: U.S. Navy Adm. Kurt W. Tidd will assume command from U.S. Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter and U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will preside and officiate over the ceremony.
WHEN: PRESS IS ASKED TO ARRIVE AT 9 A.M. Jan. 14 to allow for credentialing, parking and security scans. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
WHERE: Gate 2, U.S. Southern Command headquarters, 9301 NW 33rd St., Doral, Fla. 33172 (the gate is the second entrance west of the Miami Herald building).
