Waco’s All-American Selected

WACO, Texas – Now in its fifth year, the Marine Corps is on tour selecting players for the opportunity to participate in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. A cornerback from La Vega High School was selected to play in the game and was presented a jersey during an assembly Nov. 2, 2015.

Parrish Cobb, is one of the 92 high school athletes selected from across the country to play in the East versus West style bowl. Cobb, 6’0”, 178 pounds, is representing the West Coast team.

“We’ve been working for this moment since we got to high school, just to be an all-American means the world to me,” said Cobb.

Players selected are well-rounded individuals, not only are they distinguished athletes, but also have academic achievements and display exemplary moral characteristics.

“One moment that really defined him, was when we were at a basketball game, and he was up in the stands studying and doing his homework,” said Willie Williams, head football coach/athletic director for La Vega High School, “grades come first for him.”

Cobb, a top ranked Texas cornerback is committed to playing college football at Oklahoma University.

The 5th annual Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl will be played in Carson, Calif., Jan. 3, 2016 at 8 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
