Fort Hood's Post Exchange to unveil 270,000-square-foot Clear Creek Shopping Center Oct. 1

FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood leadership and Army & Air Force Exchange headquarters officials will unveil a 270,000-square-foot Clear Creek Post Exchange Shopping Center at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside Building 4250, Clear Creek Blvd., here.

The $47 million shopping center includes a main exchange, a mall with 10 new concessions and a food court with six new restaurants. This is Fort Hood's first new shopping center in nearly 20 years.

Inside the main store, military shoppers will find numerous name-brand "concept shops" including a special BE FIT section stocked with name-brand athletic wear for men and women. The food court features national brand restaurants.

In addition to concessionaires, the mall also features a dentist office, pharmacy and optometry center.

Comments during the ceremony will be made by AAFES Director and CEO Tom Shull and Col. Joseph P. Mcgee, 1st Cavalry Division deputy commander for support. AAFES Deputy Director Mike Immler will also be in attendance.
