KABUL, Afghanistan – Regional Command Capital's Italian rangers based in the mountainous area of Surobi, an eastern District of Kabul, named a climbing route they prepared near their base after Warrant Officer Giovanni Pezzulo recently.

Warrant Officer Pezzulo died after an insurgent attack last February while providing humanitarian aid to the local population.

After a brief ceremony to inaugurate the route, many Italian soldiers of Task Force Surobi, led by Pezzulo's team leader, climbed the route to celebrate the event and honor their fallen comrade.
