Attacks in al Kut wound three Iraqi police, nine Iraqi civilians

CAMP VICTORY, Iraq – Three Iraqi policemen and nine Iraqi civilians were wounded in attacks in al Kut, Iraq, March 14 and 15.

The three IPs were wounded during an attack involving small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades overnight, March 14. Two of the IPs wounded were medically evacuated by coalition forces for treatment. The third was treated at nearby Forward Operating Base Delta. All three were injured by gunshot wounds.

The nine civilians were injured in a separate mortar attack. Three of the wounded were medically evacuated for treatment by coalition forces.

Iraqi security forces conducted a cordon and search in the Sharkiyah District of al Kut as a response to these attacks, to restore the rule of law and disrupt criminal activity.
