KABUL, Afghanistan – Provincial Reconstruction Team Kunduz opened a permanent Provincial Advisory Team in Taloqan Feb. 23.
Germany, being the lead nation of Regional Command North, decided to strengthen civil reconstruction efforts and to extend its commitment in northern Afghanistan, leading to the opening of PAT Taloqan, which symbolizes a major step toward the planned diversification of the civil military concept.
PAT Taloqan, in close coordination with the Afghan government and the international partners, will serve to improve the conditions for successful reconstruction in Takhar province.
Similar to the structure of the RC-North PRTs, PAT Taloqan will have a civil military command as well. Local employees of the Association for Technical Cooperation, which acts as executive organization on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, will also be integrated in the activities of the PAT.
