MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU AIRBASE, Romania - Debra S. Wada, assistant secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs), visited Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase, Romania, April 25, as part of a tour of the various joint-training military installations across Europe taking part in Operation Atlantic Resolve. Wada took the opportunity to inspect and learn more about the conditions and equipment provided for military and civilian affairs, Reserve Mobilizations, and Morale, Welfare and Recreation for all soldiers involved in Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Wada became the assistant secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs on Oct. 2, 2014. In that role she is responsible for overseeing Army strategy, policy, programs, and compliance related to issues including readiness and mobilization, force structure policy, and manpower analysis.

This allows Wada to see improvements made in places that she visits, and the progress made as a result of the combined efforts of soldiers around the world.

"This airbase has developed a lot from the last time I was here," said Wada. "We're greatly appreciative of the Romanian's support," said Wada.

As the United States-Romanian Army and other NATO forces combine their knowledge and talents through bi-lateral training as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, the collective security of Europe is strengthened daily. This multi-faceted alliance is a force that will only grow stronger with time.

"I think that as we look to the future we won't be fighting any conflict alone," said Wada. "Coming here to witness such an alliance in person is a great opportunity."
