CAMP SHERMAN, Ohio - On Jan. 16, the Ohio National Guard’s Chillicothe based 1194th Engineer Company welcomed a new commander, Capt. Adam Sagraves.

Sagraves takes over command from Capt. Todd Winn, who will be deploying overseas with the Northeast Ohio-based HHC 112th Engineer Battalion.

Sagraves was commissioned in 2003. He has previously served as an infantry and engineer platoon leader and battalion and brigade level plans officer.

Sagraves left the active Army just over nine months ago to join the Ohio National Guard.

A native of Jackson, Sagraves is a 1999 graduate of Jackson High School. In 2003, he received a bachelor's degree from Ohio University in Athens in 2003.

“My vision for this unit is to build a unit that has both a professional and family environment, that is ready to answer any call to duty if and when it comes,” said Sagraves.
