The III Corps and Fort Hood commander will host a Purple Heart and Defense of Freedom Medal Ceremony at 9 a.m. April 10 at the III Corps Headquarters for the victims and families of the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting incident here.

Forty-four medals will be presented during the ceremony.

On April 10, media should meet at 7 a.m. at the Southside parking lot of the Fort Hood visitors’ center. Only one satellite truck will be allowed at the ceremony for a live media pool with two cameras broadcasting.
