Agency work comes full circle for Atlanta QAs

ATLANTA - Two Defense Contract Management Agency Atlanta quality assurance specialists recently received a surprising reminder of home while deployed with the Air Force Reserve.

Tech. Sgts. Adam Kelly and Kevin Mowery deployed overseas in support of an Air Force Central Command mission. Both men wear two professional hats, as agency team members and reserve airmen. Having been in various facilities back home performing government contract quality assurance functions, they saw their work come full circle while far away from Georgia.

Kelly described the surprise in a message to his supervisor Jack LaPrad, DCMA Atlanta QA team lead:

Morning Jack,

It’s funny how small the world seems to be sometimes. We troubleshot a radar discrepancy on one of our aircraft to a faulty radar display unit. When the one we ordered came in, I noticed something that put a big smile on my face. There was a (wide area workflow) receiving report attached to the paperwork. The contract for the repair of the Radar Display Unit we ordered was administered by our very own DCMA Atlanta ... I already knew that DCMA’s main purpose was to support the warfighter by ensuring that only the best quality items are delivered, but seeing it from both ends really changes the whole meaning of supporting the warfighter to me. Please let everybody at DCMA Atlanta know that they should be really proud of what they do. I’m very proud to be a part of the DCMA Atlanta family and look forward to coming back. Keep up the good fight!

Lou Gentile, DCMA Atlanta QA director, said, “Adam and Kevin both have a 360-degree experience base that speaks directly to our mission of delivering global acquisition insight that matters. This is truly from the factory floor to the field.”
