CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Leadership with the 108th Sustainment Brigade out of Chicago, met with the commander of the Kuwait National Guard’s Sustainment Support Command June 17 at Camp Tahreer, Kuwait.

Col. Drew Dukett of Roodhouse, Illinois, commander of the 108th Sust. Bde. and Command Sgt. Maj. John Burns of Benld, Illinois, the 108th’s command sergeant major met with Col. Khaled AlGharib, commander of KNG’s Sustainment Support Command.

This was the first time the two commanders were able to meet since the 108th Sust. Bde. arrived in February. During the meeting they discussed their experience, best practices and issues they have encountered during sustainment support operations.

The group was then given a tour of the Camp Tahreer maintenance and workshops. The group was able to see the many vehicles the KNG employs and learn about their use in the KNG.

The Sustainment Support Command conducts maintenance of the tactical and non-tactical vehicles for KNG units.

The 108th Sust. Bde. and the Sustainment Support Command have conducted several bi-lateral exercises and exchanges learning more about their respective techniques in sustainment operations. The two commands plan to conduct more exchanges in the coming months.
