BAGRAM, Afghanistan – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Afghanistan District’s Resident Manager, John E. Arnold received the Superior Civilian Service Award from the District commander, Col. Michael Price during a May 16 awards ceremony at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan.
Arnold, a resident of Charleston, S.C., received the award, signed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Transatlantic Division commander Maj. Gen. Michael Eyre, for exceptional meritorious service to the District, from April 01, 2013 to June 14, 2014 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His service as a Project Engineer and promoted to Resident Manager to oversee the Bagram Special Forces Resident Office. Arnold’s contract administration and staff oversight lead the team to complete nine projects valued at $180 million.
Arnold’s outstanding professionalism, dedication to the mission and selfless service reflects great credit upon himself, the Transatlantic Afghanistan District, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The Superior Civilian Service Award is the third highest Department of the Army honorary award granted by any Commander and nominations reflect superior service or achievement.
He also received the Global War on Terrorism Civilian Service DoD medal and the NATO medal.
